Safety & Suitability
Not at all. There is no such thing as being "bad" at breathwork. Whether your breath is deep, shallow, fast, or slow, you are exactly where you need to be. My role is to guide you, not to judge your performance. Every session is an opportunity to tune into your own body’s needs.
Breathwork shifts your physiology - it influences your oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, heart rate variability, and nervous system activity. Depending on the technique, you can use it to energize your body, calm your system, or move through stored stress.
You may see videos of people having very visible emotional releases, shaking, or moving their bodies quite a bit during breathwork. While this is one way the body processes and releases stored tension, it is not the only way to experience it. Every nervous system is unique; for some, the release is a quiet, internal experience of deep peace, while for others, it is more active and expressive. My priority is to provide a safe space where you can go at your own pace - there is no "performance" required, and you are always in control of your own journey.
It happens! If you drift off, it simply means your body was craving rest and gave itself permission to get it. You will still receive the benefits of the sound and the environment, and your subconscious is still "listening." When you wake up, just gently reorient yourself, take a few deep breaths, and ease back into your day. There is no judgment here - your body knows exactly what it needs.
9D Breathwork is a revolutionary modality designed to fast-track personal transformation. By combining conscious connected breathing with multi-dimensional soundscapes, binaural beats, and subliminal therapy, it helps down-regulate an overactive nervous system, release trapped somatic trauma, reduce chronic stress, and clear subconscious emotional blocks far more rapidly than traditional meditation.
That is perfectly okay. Not every session will feel like a "big" release or a dramatic breakthrough and that does not mean you didn't receive the benefits. Sometimes the work is happening in the background, or your nervous system simply needs a moment of gentle, quiet recalibration. Trust the process, stay curious, and know that you are still receiving the support your body needs, even if it feels quiet.
Every breathwork journey is unique. Some people experience vivid imagery, colors, or deep insights, while others have a more quiet, physical, or meditative experience. All of these are completely normal. There is no "right" way to experience breathwork, and it is best to simply remain open to whatever your body and mind need to process in the moment rather than trying to force a specific result.
Wear comfortable clothing that doesn't restrict your breathing or movement. Have a quiet space where you won't be interrupted, a yoga mat or a comfortable surface to lie down on, and perhaps a blanket for warmth, as the body temperature can fluctuate during breathwork.
Many participants report feeling "lighter," clearer, or more grounded after a session. This usually happens when the nervous system moves out of a state of chronic activation and back into a state of rest and recovery.
Breathwork creates space to notice sensations or emotions that we might usually ignore in our busy daily lives. For some, it is deeply relaxing from the start; for others, it may feel "activating" or energetic before the body finds its settle point. Both experiences are safe and normal.
It is completely normal. As we slow down and consciously deepen the breath, we begin to shift the body out of "survival mode," which often allows stored stress or tension to surface. Sometimes that feels like deep peace, sometimes it feels emotional, and sometimes it’s a mix of both. It’s all part of the process.
While our immersive 9D experiences are typically 75 to 90 minutes long to allow for deep integration, we frequently host local community resets and workshops around Grapevine designed to efficiently clear stress, anchor your mind, and reset your nervous system in a single evening.
For down-regulating an overactive fight-or-flight response, techniques like conscious connected breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, and extended exhalations are incredibly effective. Our specialized 9D Breathwork journeys combine these foundational breathing techniques with brainwave-entraining sound frequencies and subliminal coaching, creating the ultimate fast-track experience to reset a stressed nervous system and restore deep inner calm.
Look no further! Exhale Breathwork specializes in multi-dimensional sound experiences. Our journeys are anchored by advanced audio technology that blends brainwave-entraining binaural beats, cinematic soundscapes, and intuitive vocal guidance. This immersive audio environment allows you to tune out external distractions and drop into an optimized state for deep somatic clearing.
Sound is a powerful catalyst for shifting the nervous system. Our multi-dimensional audio setups utilize specific sound frequencies, subliminal suggestions, and binaural beats designed to quiet the analytical mind (the default mode network) and safely guide your brainwaves into deep, meditative states. This allows you to access and release stored emotional tension much faster than traditional talk therapy or silent meditation.
Absolutely! One of the most beautiful things about breathwork is that it can meet you exactly where you are. If you are a beginner, please don't worry, as most of the people who walk through our doors are trying it for the very first time, and we walk you through everything step-by-step. For seniors or anyone navigating physical comfort limits, the journey is completely customizable. You don't have to lay flat on a mat if that doesn't feel good; seated participation is always welcome, and you are always in total control of your own pace. Your comfort and safety are the top priority.
It can be activating, but you are always the one steering the ship. Conscious connected breathing does naturally shift your physiology and elevate your heart rate to help release stored tension. It can feel like a deep internal workout, but it is entirely low-impact, and you can change your breathing pace back to normal whenever your body asks for a softer moment.
Not even a little bit. A huge portion of the community at Exhale Breathwork consists of absolute beginners. We spend the first 15–20 minutes of every single class breaking down the entire technique, practicing the breath together, and answering your questions before the journey even starts. You are completely safe and welcome exactly as you are.
I highly recommend enjoying a lighter meal or wrapping up eating about 1.5 to 2 hours before we begin. Because we’ll be practicing deep, conscious abdominal breathing, a completely full stomach can feel a bit uncomfortable or heavy while you breathe. Staying hydrated throughout the day is wonderful, but try to just sip water right before we start so your session isn't interrupted by a bathroom break!
Yes, it is incredibly common! As you change your breathing pattern, the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your body shifts, which can create physical sensations like tingling in your fingers or face, or a temporary tightening in your hands (often called 'tetany'). It is a completely safe, physiological response to the breath and passes quickly as your breathing normalizes. I'll coach you through it the entire time, and you can always slow your breath down if it ever feels like too much.
Please let that worry go - there is absolutely no 'doing it perfectly' here! The 9D audio guidance and my cues are there to support you, but your body is the ultimate boss. If you feel like you need to slow down, take a break, or return to your normal breathing style at any moment, you are completely free to do so. This is your journey, your pace, and your safe space."
The '9 Dimensions' represent the multi-layered approach woven into the audio journey to support your mind and body. It’s a blend of 9 distinct elements working together: conscious connected breathing, 432Hz tuning, solfeggio frequencies, binaural beats, subliminal therapy, ISO-chronic tones, interactive coaching, left-right brain stimulation, and cinematic sound design. You don't have to track any of it—the technology works behind the scenes so you can just lay back and experience it.
We’ll begin by gathering to ground ourselves, go over the specific breathing style, and set an intention for your journey. Then, you’ll lay back on a comfortable mat, put on our specialized 9D headphones, and let the immersive sound, music, and vocal coaching take over. I’ll be actively guiding and supporting you the entire time. Afterward, we’ll gently bring you back into the room with time to rest, ground, and integrate the experience before you head home.
Comfort is absolutely key here! Wear your favorite, coziest lounge clothes -think sweatpants, a loose tee, or layers to keep you comfortable as your body temperature shifts during the session. I’ve got you fully covered with premium mats, eye masks, and cozy blankets. If we're meeting in person, just bring a water bottle and an open mind. For virtual sessions, grab your best pair of headphones and find a quiet spot where you can lay down flat.
Not even a little bit! A huge portion of the people who come to Exhale Breathwork are trying it for the very first time. We spend the first part of every single session breaking down the technique, practicing the breath together, and answering every question you have before the music even starts. You are completely safe, fully guided, and welcome exactly as you are.
It depends on the journey you choose!
Activation Journeys: Designed to be "up-regulating." These use faster breathing to peak the nervous system and break through stagnation.
Down-Reg Journeys: Designed for "resetting." These focus on slow, rhythmic breathing to soothe the nervous system and induce deep rest.
Hybrid Journeys: Give you the best of both worlds - clearing out the old and then grounding you back into calm.
Traditional breathwork is beautiful, but 9D is a total multi-sensory immersion. Instead of just listening to a playlist in a room, you’re wearing specialized headphones that wrap you in a high-definition soundscape. It combines binaural beats, solfeggio frequencies, subliminal suggestions, and 3D sound effects with my live vocal coaching. It’s designed to gently bypass the thinking mind, making it much easier to drop into a deep, somatic experience without your brain getting in the way.
You will likely feel an immediate sense of lightness, mental clarity, or deep physical relaxation right after we finish, which often carries beautifully into the next few days (and usually leads to incredible sleep that night!). On a deeper level, the shifts in your nervous system and the emotional weight you release can create lasting, permanent changes in how you handle stress and show up in your daily life over time.
Be incredibly gentle with yourself. Your nervous system has just done some beautiful, deep work. I recommend keeping your schedule light after a journey - give yourself permission to take a warm bath, spend some quiet time in nature, journal any insights that came up, and drink plenty of water. Treat the rest of your evening like a soft landing.
Everyone's integration wave looks a bit different! In the hours and days after a session, you might feel a beautiful sense of lightness, mental clarity, and deep peace - and you will likely have some of the best sleep of your life. On the flip side, because we're clearing out old energy, you might also feel a little tender, tired, or emotionally sensitive. Both experiences are completely normal and part of the healing process. Just give yourself permission to move a bit slower.
Absolutely. Integration is where the real magic happens, and sometimes thoughts, emotions, or questions can bubble up a day or two after you leave the mat. Please know you don’t have to carry that alone. You are always welcome to reach out to me via email or Instagram DM to share what's coming up. I am here to help you process, ground, and make sense of your experience.
Absolutely. Shifting your body to get comfortable or to support the release of tension is completely normal and encouraged. Your body knows what it needs to process.
Definitely. By focusing on your breathing, you pull your awareness out of your head—where stress and overthinking live—and drop it back into your body. It is one of the most effective ways to anchor yourself in the present moment.
Yes. Many people use breathwork as a tool for emotional regulation. Certain techniques are specifically designed to help calm the nervous system, sharpen focus, and ease that feeling of being overwhelmed.
Longer exhales are like a "brake pedal" for your nervous system; they naturally trigger the parasympathetic (rest and recovery) response. This is why so many of our calming exercises focus on lengthening that exhale.
Slow breathing is a physical signal of safety to your brain. It helps lower your heart rate and reduce stress hormones, activating your natural relaxation response. Sometimes, the fastest way to calm a busy mind is to start with the body.
Absolutely. Science shows that slow, intentional breathing helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system - your body’s "rest and digest" mode. By changing how you breathe, you can directly influence your heart rate, stress levels, and overall focus. Your body truly listens to your breath.

Exhale Breathwork provides dedicated somatic breathwork experiences right here in North Texas. Our sessions combine conscious connected breathing with somatic body awareness, targeted track frequencies, and targeted releases to help move stuck, dense energy out of the physical body and restore balance to your nervous system.
That is completely fine and very normal! There is no 'right' way to experience breathwork. Some sessions bring massive emotional breakthroughs, while others offer a quiet, deeply peaceful physical reset. Both are incredibly valuable. Even if it feels like 'nothing happened' on a logical level, your nervous system is still doing beautiful, restorative work behind the scenes. Trust that your body took exactly what it needed from the experience.
Not at all! Your brain’s entire job is to think, so it’s completely natural if it tries to chime in or distract you. When you notice your mind wandering to your to-do list or a random thought, don't sweat it. Just bring your awareness gently back to the rhythm of your breath and the sound in your headphones. Think of each distraction as just another opportunity to practice coming back to yourself.
Not only is it okay, it is incredibly welcome! Breathwork has a beautiful way of clearing out the emotional blocks we’ve spent years pushing down. Sometimes that looks like a quiet tear, a deep sob, an unexpected burst of laughter, or even a heavy sigh. Whatever bubbles up is exactly what your system is ready to let go of. There is zero judgment in this space - just total freedom to let it out.
Absolutely, 100%. This is your space and your journey. If your body or mind says 'I need a moment,' listen to it. You can seamlessly transition back to a normal, resting breath through your nose, pull your blanket up, and simply rest while letting the 9D soundscape wash over you. You can rejoin the breathing rhythm whenever you feel ready or not at all.
While our workshops are held in a shared group energy container, your experience is entirely private and deeply personal. You’ll be in your own space with your headphones on, but I am actively moving through the room the entire time. I keep a close, protective eye on the energy of the space and check in frequently, ensuring you feel completely looked after, safe, and supported from start to finish.
If a wave of intense emotion or overwhelm comes up, know that you are completely safe and capable of moving through it. These moments are often just old, stored energy finally finding its way out. You can instantly slow your breath down or open your eyes to anchor yourself. I am right there with you to offer a calming presence or ground you, reminding you that you are entirely in control of your pace. Remember: You are always in control of your own journey. If at any point you feel overwhelmed, you can pause, return to your natural rhythm, or open your eyes to ground yourself. You can return to the practice whenever you feel ready, or simply rest for the remainder of the session.
Breathwork can influence the autonomic nervous system, which controls the body's stress and relaxation responses. Specific breathing patterns may help reduce feelings of stress, increase body awareness, and support a shift toward a calmer, more regulated state.
Many people describe feeling lighter, more grounded, or emotionally relieved after breathwork. Some practitioners believe breathwork can help process unresolved emotional experiences. Please note that breathwork is not a substitute for therapy, medical treatment, or trauma-focused mental health care.
Research suggests that controlled breathing can influence brain regions involved in emotion regulation, attention, self-awareness, and memory. Many participants report feeling calmer, more present, and more connected to their emotions after a session.
If you are feeling a pull toward this, even alongside a little bit of nervousness, you are ready. You don’t need to be a meditation expert, and you don’t need to have your life completely figured out. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck in a racing mind, or simply ready to let go of weight you’ve been carrying alone, this space is for you. Curiosity and a willingness to show up for yourself are the only prerequisites.
