My Path to the Breath
My Path to the Breath
Hi, I'm Karen.
Like many people, I spent years moving through life at a fast pace. Between my career in technology, raising my son, and the demands of everyday life, I understand what it's like to carry stress, stay in "go mode," and rarely slow down long enough to check in with yourself.
As a natural introvert, I've always found peace in simple things like running with my two blue heelers, Rooster and Brooklyn, paddleboarding on the lake, and being near the water. Breathwork became one of the practices that helped me reconnect with myself, regulate stress, and create more balance.
When Everything Changed
When I discovered 9D Breathwork, everything shifted.
For the first time, I wasn't trying to "fix" myself. I was finally allowing my body to release what it had been carrying. It taught me how to regulate my own nervous system and helped me find a deeper sense of calm, safety, and connection within myself.
I felt more like me than I had in years.
Why I Guide Others
Today, I guide immersive 9D Breathwork experiences designed to help others do the same.
My mission is to create a safe space where people can slow down, breathe deeply, reconnect with themselves, and remember that healing doesn't have to be complicated.

What Is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a simple, powerful mind–body practice that uses intentional breathing patterns to influence how your nervous system feels and functions. Instead of only talking about stress, anxiety, or burnout, we work directly with the body’s stress response through the breath. By changing how you breathe, you send new signals through the autonomic nervous system - the part of you that controls heart rate, digestion, and whether you feel calm or on high alert.
In a guided breathwork session, you’re led through specific rhythms and patterns of breathing that support nervous system regulation, somatic healing, and emotional processing. This can help calm chronic fight‑or‑flight patterns, soften muscle tension, and create more space between you and your thoughts. Many people experience this as a mix of deep relaxation, emotional release, and a clearer connection to what they actually feel.
Breathwork is not about forcing a breakthrough or “fixing” yourself. It’s about creating conditions where your body feels safe enough to unwind. As your parasympathetic nervous system (your “rest and restore” mode) comes online, your system can begin to process stored emotional tension that’s been held in the background for years. Over time, this kind of practice can support better self‑regulation, more resilience under stress, and a more grounded sense of self .
What to Expect in a 9D Session
Your Private World
-
Total Privacy: You’ll wear high-quality noise-canceling headphones and an eye mask. This creates a 'bubble' where it’s just you and the music. No one can hear each other and you won’t see anyone else. If you’d like to know more about who’s guiding you, you can learn more about Karen here.
-
Freedom to Release: Because you’re in your own world, you have total permission to let it out. Whether it’s a big sigh, a laugh, or even a therapeutic scream -it feels amazing to finally let go, and your headphones keep the focus entirely on your own journey.
How Breathwork Affects the Nervous System
Many people spend years living in a state of low-level stress without even realizing it. The body adapts to being busy, overwhelmed, and constantly "on." Over time, chronic stress can affect sleep, focus, emotional regulation, energy levels, and even the way we breathe.
When we feel stressed, the nervous system naturally shifts into what is often called the fight-or-flight response. This response is designed to protect us in moments of danger, but modern life can keep us stuck in this state far longer than intended. Work demands, family responsibilities, constant stimulation, and unresolved stress can all contribute to a nervous system that rarely has the opportunity to fully rest.
As this pattern continues, breathing often becomes shallow and restricted. The body remains alert, even when there is no immediate threat.
Breathwork helps bring awareness back to the body and supports the nervous system's ability to shift into a more grounded and regulated state. Through intentional breathing, many people experience greater activation of the parasympathetic nervous system - the body's natural "rest and restore" response.
This process can help calm the mind, release physical tension, improve emotional resilience, and create a deeper sense of connection between the mind and body. Over time, many people find they are better able to respond to life's challenges rather than constantly reacting from stress or overwhelm.
While every experience is different, breathwork offers a powerful way to reconnect with your body, regulate your nervous system, and create space for healing, clarity, and personal growth.
What Makes 9D Breathwork Different
Once you understand how breathwork supports the nervous system, the next question becomes: why does the 9D experience feel so different from traditional breathwork?
Most breathwork is powerful. 9D Breathwork adds another layer by combining somatic breathing with immersive headphones, layered sound frequencies, and trauma‑aware guidance. You wear noise‑isolating headphones and an eye mask, and are guided through a multi‑sensory journey that engages both your conscious mind and your deeper subconscious patterns. This creates a focused, private world where your nervous system can safely unwind and process what it’s been holding.
The 9 layers engineered into every 9D Breathwork experience include:
01
Somatic Breathwork
Intentional breathing patterns designed to physically signal safety to the body, helping your nervous system release stored tension.
04
Binaural Brain Entrainment
Slightly different frequencies played in each ear to gently guide the brain into relaxed, meditative states like alpha and theta.
07
Subliminal Hypnotic Messaging
Positive, supportive affirmations woven underneath the music to help soften limiting beliefs at a subconscious level.
02
Multi‑Dimensional Soundscapes
Spatial, 360‑degree audio designed to make you feel fully enveloped by the music.
05
Isochronic Brainwave Tones
Uniform pulses of sound that further support the brain in shifting into targeted states of calm or focus.
08
Guided Vocal Coaching
Spoken instruction and encouragement that helps you navigate the mental and physical sensations of the breathwork journey.
03
432Hz Harmonic Tuning
Music composed using this specific frequency, which many believe aligns with natural body rhythms and supports deep relaxation and healing.
06
Bioacoustic Sound Effects
Layered sounds designed to gently trigger physical and emotional sensations within the body.
09
Low‑Frequency Audio
Deep bass and grounding vibrations designed to support the vagus nerve and help shift you out of a fight‑or‑flight response.
Together, these elements create a truly multi‑sensory experience: immersive headphones, music and frequencies layered in 9 dimensions, guided voice, and subconscious engagement all working alongside your breath. This combination supports emotional processing, nervous system regulation, and a deep focus state that’s hard to access in everyday life. It’s what makes 9D Breathwork feel different from a typical class - more like a cinematic inner journey designed for modern, high‑functioning humans who need real nervous system support.
Why the 9D Experience Feels Different
The immersive headphones used during a 9D Breathwork journey help reduce outside distractions and create a more focused, inward experience. Combined with guided breathwork, music, frequencies, and layered sound design, the experience engages both the conscious and subconscious mind.
Many participants find that this immersive environment makes it easier to quiet mental noise, access deeper emotions, and reconnect with themselves in a way that feels both safe and supported. As the nervous system begins to relax, the body often becomes more open to releasing stress, processing emotions, and creating space for greater clarity and self-awareness.
Rather than simply listening to music, you are fully immersed in an experience designed to help you slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with yourself on a deeper level.
Once you understand how breathwork supports the nervous system, the next question becomes: why does the 9D experience feel so different from traditional breathwork?
9D Breathwork is especially supportive for people who:
– Feel stuck in high‑functioning stress or quiet burnout
– Struggle to switch off their mind, even when they’re exhausted
– Want deeper nervous system support, not just mindset tips
– Prefer a guided, structured experience over open‑ended meditation
– Are curious about somatic and subconscious work, but want it in a grounded, non‑woo way
The Mind‑Body Connection and Emotional Release
Your breath is one of the most direct ways to communicate with your autonomic nervous system - the part of your body that quietly runs heart rate, digestion, and whether you feel calm or on high alert. When life is busy or stressful, the sympathetic nervous system (your fight‑or‑flight response) can stay switched on for far too long. Over time, this can create chronic stress patterns: tight muscles, shallow breathing, racing thoughts, and a body that never fully powers down.
Breathwork works by gently shifting the balance between your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. As you move from short, shallow breathing into slower, deeper patterns, you send signals through the vagus nerve that it’s safe to soften. Heart rate and breath rate begin to regulate, the parasympathetic “rest and restore” branch comes online, and your system can start to move out of constant defense.
Instead of trying to think your way out of stress, you’re using your breath to change what’s happening in the body. Over time, this can help unwind long‑held fight‑or‑flight responses, support nervous system regulation, and create a more stable baseline of calm you can return to when life gets loud again.

Signs Your Nervous System May Be Dysregulated (Living in Survival Mode)
Many people don't realize they're operating from chronic stress until it becomes their normal. When the nervous system stays in a prolonged state of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, the body can begin sending signals that it's time to slow down and reconnect. Dysregulation can show up as:
Burnout and chronic exhaustion
Feeling drained no matter how much you rest, like you’re running on fumes.
Anxiety and racing thoughts
A mind that won’t switch off, constantly scanning for what might go wrong next.
Emotional numbness or shutdown
Going blank, feeling disconnected, or not being able to access your emotions at all.
Trouble sleeping
Difficulty falling asleep, waking in the night, or feeling wired at bedtime even when you’re exhausted.
Chronic stress and overwhelm
Feeling like you’re always behind, always catching up, and never truly relaxed.
Shallow breathing habits
Breathing high in the chest, holding your breath, or rarely taking a full, easy exhale.
Difficulty relaxing or being present
Struggling to sit still, enjoy downtime, or feel grounded in your own body.
Breathwork helps create awareness around these patterns and supports nervous system regulation by activating the body's natural relaxation response. As the nervous system begins to feel safe, many people experience greater calm, emotional resilience, clarity, and connection.

Frequently Asked Questions About 9D Breathwork
Is 9D Breathwork safe for beginners?
Yes, 9D Breathwork is designed to be beginner‑friendly. You’re guided step‑by‑step, and you can slow down, return to a natural breath, or pause at any time. If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular issues, a history of seizures, serious mental health conditions, or other medical concerns, please check with your doctor or provider before booking.
What if strong emotions come up during a session?
Emotions are welcome, but nothing is forced. It’s common to feel waves of sadness, relief, or even joy as your body lets go of stored tension. You are always in control - you can slow your breath, take a break, or simply rest. My role is to hold a safe, trauma‑aware space while your nervous system does what it knows how to do.
Do I need experience with meditation or mindfulness?
No. Many people who struggle with traditional meditation find breathwork easier because it gives the mind something to do while the body relaxes. You’ll be guided through simple breathing patterns and clear cues. You don’t have to “do it right” or clear your mind - you just have to be willing to show up and breathe.
What does a 9D Breathwork session feel like in the body?
Everyone’s experience is a little different. You might notice tingling, warmth, waves of emotion, or a sense of lightness or spaciousness. Some people feel deeply relaxed; others feel energized and clear. These sensations are often signs that your autonomic nervous system is shifting out of chronic fight‑or‑flight and into a more regulated state. You are always in control and can slow down or pause at any time.
Can breathwork help with stress, anxiety, or burnout?
Breathwork is not a replacement for therapy or medical care, but it can be a powerful support for stress, anxiety, and burnout. By working directly with your breath and nervous system, you give your body a way to complete stress cycles, calm racing thoughts, and build better self‑regulation over time. Many clients describe feeling more grounded, present, and resilient in the days after a session.
Is Breathwork Safe for Beginners?
Breathwork can feel new or even a little intimidating at first, especially if you’ve never done anything like it before. This space is designed with beginners in mind. You’re guided step‑by‑step, with clear cues, gentle pacing, and plenty of reminders that you are always in control of your own experience. You can slow your breath, return to a natural rhythm, remove your headphones, or simply rest at any time.
You don’t need experience to begin. You don’t have to have the right words or a perfect plan. You simply need a little space to breathe, slow down, and reconnect with yourself again. 9D Breathwork gives your nervous system a place to rest, release, and remember what calm can feel like in your body.
Emotions are welcome, but nothing is forced. You’re never pushed to “go deeper” or have a big release. Instead, we move at the pace of your nervous system, honoring your limits and your consent. Many people are surprised by how safe and supported they feel once they settle in - like their body finally has permission to exhale.
For most people, breathwork is a safe and supportive mind‑body practice. That said, it may not be appropriate for everyone.
